Hatch Charts

The Goulburn and Rubicon rivers are two of the most popular fly fishing destinations in Australia. People come from far andcaddis hatch wide to sample some of the finest fishing available. Because of this we have decided to produce these hatch charts for the benefit of all, from the seasoned Goulburn Valley fly fisher to the budding novice. We have tried to make it specific as possible listing only the major insect types of interest to the trout. We have not included the scientific names of the species as not all have been correctly identified here in Australia and many are still the subject of conjecture and debate. While this chart is extensive it is not comprehensive. It is an overall guide based on close observation over the past 35 years. Hatch dates can vary depending on the season and in particular the river levels and water temperature.
