Goulburn Valley Fly Fishing Centre is more than just a shop. It is a destination Guides and Outfitters. While this sort of store is common in the western states of the USA, it is a new concept here in Australia. And we are proud to invite you in for a look at what we do.

First it should be noted that the centre is open 365 days a year. There is always someone here and you can get flies and advice anytime you are in the area. The beauty is that when you come into our centre you are accessing the combined wisdom of three full time trout guides! David, Geoff and Antony run Australia's longest running drift boat operation and teach hundreds of people to cast and fish each year. We give information freely and only recommend gear that we use ourselves.

The first thing you notice when looking at our place is the unique roof line. The building was designed to blend in with the surrounding skyline. With mountains on all sides of the centre the building just melts into the background. The second most prominent thing to impress on the eye is all of the water. We have 16 acres of lakes and waterways all of which are inter-connected and fed with cool, oxygen rich Goulburn River water. The centre itself is built right on the edge of a lake and the rear deck extends out over water. From here you can watch trout cruising or test cast a new fly rod in real conditions.

The Shop

Once you step inside you will see a vast range of fly fishing gear. We carry a full compliment of rods from G.Loomis, Innovator and Scierra and all budgets and styles are catered for. The beauty of this is that you can test drive a variety of rods on the water at the rear of the centre. We have demo rods rigged with Scientific Anglers reels and lines available. Technical information is only a request away and we are available for casting lessons at any time also. If you are looking for a new rod we suggest that you drop by for a chat and a demonstration.

We also carry a stock of waders (both breathable and PVC), leaders and tippets, floatant, gifts, artwork, polarised sunglasses, fly reels, fly lines, fly boxes, gadgets, vests, clothing, hats and everything else that you can think of. The shop is growing in size by the month and is open everyday from 9am-5pm. While these are the shop hours you can usually find one of us here from about 8am although we are gone by 5. Time and tide and the evening rise wait for no one!

We also carry one of the biggest fly ranges in the country. Again we point out that as guides we know what flies work and we are also very particular about the quality as we fish with the same flies that we sell. Many of the flies on sale were designed by us and you can be sure that if it is for sale here that is only because we use them when out fishing or guiding. Most of our flies are $2.50 which makes them great value.

For those of you that tie your own we have an extensive collection of flytying gear. Hairs, furs, dubbings, capes, saddles, hooks, tools, vises, yarns, chenille's, eyes, beadheads, synthetics, the list goes on and on. For those starting out we sell basic starter kits put together to suit your budget, from the very basic to the very expensive and everything in between.

The Flyshop is Australia's only full online flyshop. Almost everything that you see on our shelves can be purchased online via the ANZ Egate system.
